The South Heritage Corridor Trail is a 10 day adventure that connects Kigali to Nyungwe National Park through a historically and culturally rich landscape. Riders follow scenic off-road routes along the Nyabarongo River, through Nyanza’s royal heritage sites, Huye’s national museum, then reaching the lush rainforest of Nyamagabe. With 90 percent of the journey on dirt roads across Rwanda’s thousand hills, the trail offers both cultural immersion and thrilling natural beauty. The Congo Nile Trail is a 9 day expedition which seeks to provide an immersive experience into Rwandan life and culture. Beginning with two days in Kigali, before travelling to the north of Rwanda. Thereafter the expedition is mainly off road. Following lake Kivu, exploring the source of the Nile, venturing through the rainforest and over the mountains back to Kigali.
This 10 day expedition is an entirely on road trip circumnavigating Rwanda.
It starts and ends in Kigali, encircling the entire country and showcasing Rwanda’s most iconic landscapes and cultural treasures. The route follows the Southern Heritage Corridor Trail through Nyanza and Nyamagabe to Nyungwe Rainforest, continues along the shores of Lake Kivu, heads north around the Volcanoes region and Twin Lakes, and finally ventures East to Akagera National Park and/or around Muhazi Lake before returning to Kigali.
It’s a complete loop of Rwanda, uniting heritage, adventure, and national pride in one extraordinary ride.
